Hoffman Challenge Quilts

...a display of 40 quilts created for the 2016 Hoffman Challenge!

The Hoffman Challenge is an annual quilting endeavor taken on by first-time quilters and veterans alike.  This is the 28th year that the Hofffman Fabric Company has sponsored the competition.  The company chooses one of its new fabrics and challenges participants to use the selected fabric in an original quilted creation.  The entries may be quilts, clothing or accessory items, or home decor.  The challenge fabric must be used in the body of the quilt, or for appliqué quilts, in more than one spot.  In addition, they request that 50% of the entry consist of fabrics produced by Hoffman Fabrics.

The 2016 Challenge Fabric is from the Crystalia collection.  Competitors may choose either the opal or onyx background version of the fabric as shown below.

This will undoubtedly be the first viewing of 2016 challenge quilts in Massachusetts as winners are not announced until October, 2016!
