 lcome back Amy Friend. This program will be a one hour long trunk show tha
 t includes a discussion of Amy's personal sewing history and evolution\, a
 nd how it fits into the modern quilting movement. By showing samples of he
 r work\, Amy will introduce quilters to the characteristics of modern quil
 ting as defined by the Modern Quilt Guild so that they get a better unders
 tanding of what modern quilting is all about!\n\nAmy Friend is a former mu
 seum curator turned designer. She designs modern quilts and specializes in
  paper pieced designs. She authored the books Intentional Piecing (2016)\,
  Improv Paper Piecing: A Modern Approach to Quilt Design (2017)\, and Peta
 l + Stem (2020). Amy runs community block swaps several times a year as we
 ll as block of the month and quilt along programs. She is an award winning
  quilter and her quilts have been exhibited at a number of quilt shows as 
 well as museums. Amy is a national quilt teacher and lecturer. Amy lives i
