 \nTopic: Making Mosaic Art Quilts\nHeidi Proffetty is an award-winning qui
 lter and professional teacher known for her unique style of mosaic art qui
 lts. Working from photographs she has taken\, all of her quilts are create
 d by cutting\, arranging\, and sewing together small pieces of colored fab
 ric to create images. Some of her designs are quite realistic\; others\, d
 ecidedly abstract.  Her designs for Moroccan tile quilt blocks are inspir
 ed by ancient tile artwork.\n\nIn this lecture\,  Heidi discusses both t
 raditional and innovative methods for drawing and tracing designs\,  fabr
 ic cutting techniques\, and gives tips for professionally finishing a mosa
 ic quilt.\n\nThis lecture will give you just enough insight into her creat
 ive and inspirational mosaic quilt-making process to make you want to lear
 n more!\n\nHeidi received a first place award for her newest geometric sty
 le of mosaic quilts\, Azul Medallions (block detail below in first positi
 on)\, at the 2022 AQS Show in Paducah\, KY.  She has also been the recipi
 ent of several awards for her pictorial style of mosaic quilts.\n\nHer qui
 lts have been featured in traveling exhibits and local galleries. She has 
 made guest appearances on The Quilt Show and Quilting Arts TV and is a reg
 ular contributor to the Janome Sewing Machine’s Maker/Artisan program wh
 ere she frequently provides free projects and content related to quilting
