This month, Linda Pearl returns to RNQG  -- this time to teach a workshop!
LindaPearl
Linda is a long-time quilter, lecturer, collector of fabrics and (most recently) certified instructor for Sew Kind of Wonderful -- a company that creates rulers and tools that make the process of cutting and sewing curved pieces of fabric, fast, easy and consistent!

In Linda's words, "The Color Love Quilt is everything I love in a quilt -- a colorful focal point, a scrappy background, and symmetry in design."

The pattern (shown here) is found in the book, "Mini Wonderful Curves" and is designed to use the Mini Curve ruler by Sew Kind of Wonderful.
The book and ruler are required for participation in this class! If you would like to purchase them from Linda, you must do so before September 20!  Details are in the Workshop Supply list.

The only other thing you need are fabric scraps!   Happily, anything bigger than a charm square works in this pattern.

Jerrianne Ouellette is a textile and paper artist, painter, a maker of things and an avid lover of books.  Many years ago she was given a "how to" manual for making fabric books.  She was instantly intrigued by the layers and textures and colors.  This started her foray into art quilting and book making.  She says,  "My real passion is thinking outside of the box and pushing the boundaries of creativity and trying to figure out how to do things differently.  I can't wait to share with you!"

Her program includes many of the pieces she has created over the years.   She refers to her books as "adult picture books".  They are made using a variety of techniques, fabrics, lace, beads, old hankies, buttons, etc.  Her rule of thumb?  "If I have it and want to use it, it goes in."

The books are fabric inside and out.    Jerrianne employs several different styles and binding techniques (which she will describe).   Most of her pieces will be passed around so guild members can get a close-up view of the details.

A favorite resource for Jerrianne is a Ann Wood, a blogger  who provides detailed instructions for book-making.  Her template for a book page can be found < here >.  Instructions and videos of her book-making process can be viewed < here >.
